Dame Margaret Barbour progettò il Bedale per soddisfare le esigenze dei fantini: presentava una lunghezza ridotta, una vestibilità comoda, prese d’aria sulla parte posteriore e l’essenziale fascia interna antigoccia in nylon che impediva all’umidità del cavallo di infiltrarsi nella giacca. Realizzato in cotone cerato di peso medio (170 grammi), estremamente funzionale e dotato di fodera e cappuccio termici opzionali con cerniera, il Bedale è la giacca perfetta da indossare tutto l’anno. La popolarità del Bedale ha ispirato un modello da donna più aderente, il Beadnell, che prende il nome da un piccolo villaggio di pescatori del Northumberland.
